Who Am I?

I am a working mother of two beautiful (yes, I am smiling when I say this) kids. I am a relatively happy person (as witnessed to me by friends, family and co-workers who tell me to "take it down a notch"). Life has not always been good, but, it is so much better now. I look forward to the days ahead as I work toward my Bachelor's degree. Let me take a deep breath very slowly, and I am on to the next thing. Look for me tomorrow. I'm sure I'll have plenty to say as time goes on and I get more comfortable with this and I start receiving and responding to your comments and those of my friends, family and co-workers.

Back to School...again

No Danny Zucco waiting for me to step foot on the campus, but back to school it is for me. I am taking on a number of tasks right now along with working on my bachelor's degree. I have decided that before I become 40 years old, I will lose 60 pounds. I've got work to do!!! I can do it though. Can I? Yep, I can do it!!! I've got a great support team at home (my two kids, Anthony and Jesyka), and plenty of work on my job, homework and housework, along with motherhood, to keep me moving and away from Lucky Charms cereal (they're magically delicious you know?). I have the opportunity to hit the gym every evening after work, and I plan to take full advantage of it. Oh, I mowed the lawn last week, and that was my first time doing so. After the initial adjustment to having to actually USE my arm muscles to make that machine move, I was a lawn cutting diva. So, add that to my list of "I can do's" toward my daily activities list, and I'm pretty much set. Now, if I can just stay away from my co-workers who choose to take turns bringing sweet desserts to work, I know I will be triumphant. So, if you see a determined looking woman in the grocery store who seems to be moving strategically down the aisles...just nod and smile as you pass me by. A pat on the shoulder and a "you can do it girl" also goes a long way. The next time you hear from me I'll have lost a few pounds and with your caring and supportive comments, I'll reach my goal. I won't get specific with a date yet, but, I will reach my goal. Eye of the tiger baby! Eye of the tiger!!
